Here we find ourselves in another episode of this series where Jay and Al Fadi investigate the Quranic claims about the how the Sun and Moon operate as it concerns the Earth.
We find in Surah 21:33 where the Quran affirms that the Moon orbits the Earth and the Sun orbits the Milky Way. So far so good right?
However, we find Surah 36:40 that it says that it is “not for the sun to overtake the moon” and that both the Sun and Moon “each float in an orbit”. This suggests that the Sun and Moon occupy the same orbit that revolves around the Earth.
So the question is, how do Muslims deal with this apparent contradiction in the Quran?
